During your consultation, Dr. Lent will discuss with you your desires for a nasal surgery.  Since each person’s nose is different, Dr. Lent evaluates your nose and facial features.  Dr. Lent
carefully evaluates your nose to determine where the problem areas are and will consult with you on what nose reshaping changes you would like made. Dr. Lent will use this information to develop a well thought out plan to improve your appearance and breath easier. Dr. Lent will carefully go over all the risks involved, the benefits of the procedure, steps involved, and
realistic expectations. Your consultation is the best time to ask all your questions and address your concerns. Dr. Lent will ensure that you are knowledgeable about the rhinoplasty procedure so that you can feel comfortable and confident with surgery.

You will meet with Dr. Lent before surgery to review your procedure, take pre-surgery
photographs, address questions, review all the steps before and after surgery, and receive any necessary prescriptions. Generally, Dr. Lent will meet with you about one to two weeks before your scheduled surgery in our Beverly Hills Office.  After this meeting, we will help you arrange the necessary blood tests depending upon your medical history and health. Preparing a proper pre-operative plan is essential to the successful outcome of rhinoplasty. Dr. Warren Lent will map out exactly what is to be performed before entering the operating room. 

Dr. Lent usually performs the rhinoplasty procedure under sedative or general anesthesia. During the procedure, attention will be focused on the underlying bone and cartilage, which make up the shape of your nose. It is on these structures that alterations will be made to give you your new shape and relieve any blockage. The operation can be performed through either an “open” or “closed” approach. During a rhinoplasty, any difficulty with breathing through your nose can be corrected. Dr. Lent will correct a deviated septum and/or enlarged turbinates, structures that can cause obstruction, and normally warm and moisten air as it travels through the nose, to allow for natural breathing. As a board-certified plastic surgeon, Dr. Warren Lent is known for his meticulous closure of all incisions to aid in providing the best healing possible.

After the procedure, Dr. Lent will apply an external dressing and a splint. Dr. Lent will often remove the dressing about one week after the procedure. Internal splints are often placed inside the nose to control any post-operative bleeding. Dr. Lent will usually remove these about a week after the procedure. Most patients experience some degree of swelling and bruising of the cheeks and lower eyelids following surgery. Interestingly, most patients complain of very little pain after this operation.
