Breast Augmentation
What is Breast Augmentation and who should have it?
Beverly Hills breast augmentation is one of the most popular plastic surgery procedures in the world. Many women who want to increase the size of their breasts or are unhappy with the shape of their natural breasts opt to undergo plastic surgery and have breast implants in order to give their cleavage a fuller appearance.
In some cases breast implants are used in reconstructive surgery to achieve a symmetrical look. Though breast augmentation plastic surgery can dramatically increase the size and alter the shape of the natural breasts it will not help with droopiness. To tackle sagging breasts, breast augmentation can be paired with a breast lift plastic surgery procedure.
How is Beverly Hills Breast Augmentation Done?
Breast augmentation is done under general anesthesia. There are a few places in which the surgeon can choose to make the incision. The most common plastic surgery procedure entails having the incision under the breast, hiding the future scar in the fold. Another approach is to go through the armpit or to insert the implant through an incision around the nipple. In some cases it is possible to place the implant through an incision at the belly button which has the advantage of a scar that is not visible.
There are generally two types of implants available and the Beverly Hills plastic surgeon and plastic surgery patient chooses the implant that is best for the individual patient. Silicone based implants tend to give softer results but the filling is not a natural solution. Saline based implants are often firmer but the filling is a solution that closely resembles the fluid that is inside the human body.
The implants can be placed over the muscle, partially under the muscle, or completely under the muscle. During the initial consultation the surgeon and patient discuss the best option for each individual case.
What happens after a Breast Augmentation?
After the breast implant is placed the incisions are closed and compressive bandages are applied over the newly formed breasts. Breast augmentation surgery is an outpatient procedure so there is no need to stay at the clinic overnight. Daily activity can be resumed after three or four days.
The risks of breast augmentation surgery include scar tissue forming around the implant, persistent pain, numbness around the nipple area and the possible rupture of implants.
